DONATE TO FLY FOR THE KIDS - RCH STAFF
In March 2017, Associate Professor Andrew Kornberg from The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH), will take off on a fundraising adventure like no other as he circumnavigates Australia - flying solo!
‘Fly for the Kids’ is an ambitious challenge which will raise significant funds to support innovative programs, fund breakthrough research studies and buy life-saving equipment for the hospital. Andrew's fundraising mission is inspired by the brave and courageous patients & families who are cared for by The Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH).
This will be the first time since 1999 that a solo pilot has attempted to fly around the nation. Andrew's adventure will commence with his departure during the Australian International Air Show at Avalon Airport. It take him 25 days and he will visit RCH patients around Australia along the way. He will fly more than 16,000km, spend 4,624 minutes in the air and stop every three hours to refuel the plane.
As the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria, and the National Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation, thousands of children and families from around the nation rely on the RCH to help them through tough times every day.
We look forward to your contribution to this unique, life-changing and historic event. The funds raised will be donated to the Good Friday Appeal to support sick kids at The Royal Children's Hospital.
